What are Tally terms called in Zoho Books?
A Tally company becomes an organisation, ledgers become accounts, sundry debtors become customers and sundry creditors become vendors. Stock items become items. Sales, receipt, purchase and payment vouchers become invoices, payments received, bills and payments made. A debit note becomes a vendor credit, and a journal voucher becomes a manual journal.

| Group | Account type | The category a ledger belongs to, such as Current Assets, Indirect Expenses or Sales Accounts. In Zoho Books, each account has an account type. |
| Sundry Debtors | Customers | People and businesses who owe you money for sales. |

| Credit Note | Credit Note | A reduction of a customer invoice, for example for a sales return. |
| Debit Note | Vendor Credit | A reduction of a vendor bill, for example for a purchase return. |
| Journal Voucher | Manual Journal | An adjustment entry, such as depreciation or a provision. |
| Contra Voucher | Transfer (between accounts) | Moving money between cash and bank accounts. |
| Delivery Note | Delivery Challan | A document that goes with goods being delivered. |
| Bill-wise details | Open invoices and bills | The outstanding amount of each individual invoice or bill. |
| Duties & Taxes (GST ledgers) | Tax accounts (CGST, SGST, IGST) | The accounts that hold GST collected and GST paid. |
| Party GSTIN and registration type | GSTIN and GST treatment | A customer’s or vendor’s GST number and how GST applies to them. |
