Can I bring previous years’ data from Tally into Zoho Books?

When is the best time to switch from Tally to Zoho Books?
The start of a financial year (1 April) is the cleanest point, because opening balances line up with a year end. A mid-year switch also works: balances are carried forward as of an agreed cut-off date and the year’s transactions come across with them.
Do I need to stop using Tally during the migration?
